Afraid I won't have a chance to update so I'm going to do the "News" for the next two months. The Afiaras will be returning to the Sierra Chamber Music Society in Walnut Creek October the 14th, going to New York for a week after that, and recording some Shostakovich at the end of the month. Immediately after our return, we'll play a full program of Mozart, Zorn, Shostakovich, and Beethoven at the Noe Valley Chamber Music Series (Nov. 4th). On the 8th, the quartet collaborates in a choreographed performance of Shostakovich Quartet No. 5. Afterwards, we're trying to stay low for the month in order to learn some more repertoire for concerts in the next calendar year.
